Movie stars confirmed to attend Twin Cities Film Fest

Several Hollywood stars have been confirmed to attend this year's Twin Cities Film Fest next month.

The 2018 festival will be held between Oct. 17-27 at the ShowPlace ICON theater at the West End in St. Louis Park.

It comes after TCFF honored Minnesota actor Steve Zahn with a Lifetime Achievement Award at its September Gala.

Now in its 9th year, actors expected in town for this year's festival include "Napoleon Dynamite" star Jon Heder,

"Scream" actor David Arquette, and comedy actor Tom Arnold.

Heder will be in town on Friday, Oct. 19, for the festival's "Centerpiece Highlight," a showing of his comedy

"When Jeff Tried to Save the World." Heder will be in attendance along with director Kendall Goldberg.

Arnold and Arquette will be visiting for the premiere of "Saving Flora," about a teenage girl who

kidnaps an elephant from a circus and takes it to a nature reserve, which will screen on Oct. 22.

As for local celebrities, state Rep. Ilhan Omar will be there on opening night for a showing of the documentary about her, "A Time for Ilhan."

Meanwhile, Minnesota celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern will make an appearance on Thursday, Oct. 25 for the Midwest premiere of "Chef Flynn,"

a documentary about a 10-year-old boy who converted his living room to a supper club.

Opening night will be headlined by "Green Book," the movie by Peter Farrelly (one of the Farrelly Brothers responsible for "Dumb and Dumber")

that stars Viggo Mortensen and Oscar-winning Mahershala Ali.
